The UF/IFAS Extension Polk County Small Farms program will offer a small flock egg production and management class for beginners on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the UF/IFAS Extension Polk County office in Bartow. The class is limited to 40 participants on a first come first served basis.

Figure out which end is up with chicken production and how to comply with regulations to sell eggs! This class will teach you about: housing, egg production, breed selection, health management, bio-security and food safety, nutrition and pasture management, predator control and legal requirements to sell eggs. Local ordinances will be reviewed and door prizes will be offered.
