Jacob Burris is the Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ Reclaimed Water Educator with UF/IFAS Extension Seminole County. He specializes in reclaimed water management, landscape water conservation and best management practices, and water quality and quantity sciences. Jacob came to Extension to develop the Reclaiming Water Educational Campaign alongside Tina McIntyre, funded by the United States Environmental Protection Agency. Jacob arrived at Extension with over five years of intergovernmental experience in environmental sciences from across the East Coast. He is trained as a soil scientist and land usage specialist with a Bachelor of Science from North Carolina State University and became a public educator with a State of Florida 6-12 Biology Educators License. Jacob is currently finishing a Master’s of Natural Resources in Water Conservation Policy and has completed a Master’s Certificate in Natural Resource Policy and Conservation Biology through Virginia Tech.
