UF/IFAS Extension offers free tax preparation through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program (VITA). IRS-Certified tax preparers help taxpayers file taxes quickly and easily. Once your tax return is completed, the VITA volunteers will quality check returns within 4 business days. When the quality check is complete, the second appointment will go over the finished return. Sign the approved return and participants will receive refunds through direct deposit.

VITA appointment scheduling starts the last week of January of 2024. Please call Cindi at (727) 582-2656 to schedule your VITA appointments.
Tuesdays in February will have appointment openings at the Lealman Exchange. 5175 45th Street N. Lealman, FL 33714
Appointments will also be available at the Botanical Gardens UF/IFAS Extension location 12520 Ulmerton Road Largo, FL 33774.
Other locations may be available for appointments.
Qualifications include:
- People who generally make $60,000 or less
- Persons with disabilities; and
- Limited English-speaking taxpayers
