Stormwater Stewardship Month: Join Us in Protecting Our Water Resources

UF/IFAS Extension Pinellas County, in collaboration with Pinellas County Environmental Management and the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council, is proud to announce Stormwater Stewardship Month, a month-long educational and awareness campaign dedicated to educating the public about stormwater, watersheds, and the importance of protecting our water resources.

Why It Matters

Water management is crucial for maintaining the health of our environment and community. By educating the public, we aim to:

  • Protect Public Health: Reduce pollutants in stormwater that can affect drinking water and recreational areas.
  • Preserve Wildlife: Ensure clean water for local wildlife and maintain healthy ecosystems.
  • Enhance Community Awareness: Foster a sense of responsibility and stewardship among visitors and residents.
