Adopt-A-Pond is back!

The Pinellas County Adopt-A-Pond program collaborates with citizens to increase the functionality of their stormwater ponds. A stormwater pond is an area that collects and holds rain or groundwater before flowing to a receiving water body like Tampa Bay. Functioning stormwater ponds provide many benefits such as providing wildlife habitat, removing pollutants, preventing flooding and increasing water quality. By working together with citizens, the Adopt-A-Pond program helps to achieve these benefits. Citizens in unincorporated Pinellas can complete an application to join the program. The application, along with more information, can be found on the Adopt-A-Pond website here: http://www.pinellascounty.org/environment/watershed/adopt-a-pond.htm or by contacting the Watershed Management Hotline at (727) 464-4425.
