With the increase in population, the increase of reclaimed water use and the potential for an upcoming dry summer, comes the need to understand the use of salt and drought-tolerant plants. This is what I’ll cover during a free lecture titled How to Use Salt & Drought Tolerant Plants in N FL Landscapes. This hour-long lecture will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, September 15 at the UF/IFAS Extension Office in Okaloosa County. The address is 3098 Airport Road in Crestview. I’ll cover many of the drought and salt tolerant plants as well as how to use them in our North Florida landscapes. I’ll also cover what happens to our irrigation wells with saltwater intrusion during dry weather as well as the issue of salt in reclaimed water.
Registration is required as space is limited. Please use this email to let us know that you plan to attend MGLecture@yahoo.com and for questions about this event, please call 850-244-4490.
