4-H/ FPL Public Speaking Contest

In recent years, Nassau County 4-H has proudly spearheaded an impactful in-school public speaking contest in collaboration with Florida Power and Light (FPL). This initiative is meticulously crafted to equip young individuals with fundamental life skills such as public speaking prowess, self-assurance, resilience, goal setting, and a plethora of others. Throughout the current year, Nassau County 4-H has successfully engaged with an impressive array of ten schools, involving over 3,000 enthusiastic youth participants and 86 dedicated episodic volunteers. The program’s essence lies in its ability to empower and nurture the next generation of communicators and leaders.

The journey unfolds as youth showcase their oratory skills within their respective classrooms, vying for top scores that secure them a coveted spot in the highly anticipated local 4-H/FPL contest. This year marked a significant milestone with 25 passionate young speakers taking to the stage to share their insights and perspectives. Through this enriching platform, Nassau County 4-H continues its commitment to fostering confidence, competence, and character in the youth, laying a strong foundation for their future endeavors.
