4-H Youth Development

Teen Leadership Club

4-H Teen Leadership Council (TLC) Is a youth lead club that provides leadership and support to Nassau County. This club is designed to help youth get out of their comfort zone, achieve reachable goals, give back to the community through volunteerism and hold official elected leadership roles. Over the course of the year, 4-H youth will have a chance to use their public speaking skills, work as a team, plan, and budget events.

  1. When: 2nd Tuesday of the month; 6:30pm – 8:00pm (subject to change)

Officer Training

Nassau County 4-H At Large Club, Ages: 5-18

This club is for all 4-H families, current members, potential members, and the general community who haven’t found their club or specialty area yet, wants to learn more about 4-H in general, or wants to participate as an independent member. This will be an all-around, all purpose, general topic club led by the Nassau County 4-H Agents & Staff. Those that are in other clubs are still welcome to participate!

Nassau County 4-H Youth Emergency Team (YET): YETie, Set, Go!

We request anyone interested in supporting or learning more about these 4-H projects/contests to please stop by! If you are already at the fair, please consider talking to our youth, cheering during contests, and seeing the special charm that the fair brings to our members. Attending these events does not cost any extra outside of regular fair admission.

Who: open to ALL interested youth ages 11-18 

When: November 18, 9 am-1 pm 

Where: Emergency Operations Center 

About: YETie, Set, Go is an introductory day to develop a few hands-on, life saving skills ahead of the full course, have some fun, and get your feet wet in all things emergency management. If you are interested in joining us, please contact Ms. Kelsey or Mrs. Jami and RSVP through the Google link! RSVP is required. All participants will receive 10 hours of community service and this can be used as a fair point.

4-H Forest Ecology

Embark on a captivating journey into the world of forest ecosystems and master practical forestry skills with the 4-H Forest Ecology SPIN Program! If nature, animals, and trees captivate you, then this is an amazing opportunity to learn and explore them under the guidance of industry professionals including Rayonier, Florida Forest Service, and others. Sharpen your tree identification, map reading, and journal-keeping skills – while keeping creative with arts and crafts! This program offers enjoyable experiences tailored to enhance Juniors (8-10), Intermediates (11-13), and Seniors (14-18) learning styles: All 4-H aged youth 8 yrs. and older are welcome to join. There is $0 cost to register other than the normal 4-H fee. See you there!!

Invasive Plants of Nassau County, FL

We will be exploring the profile of the invasive plant, its biological, morphological, and reproductive advantages, economic implications, management options, and holding a question and discussion session. Fall Master Gardener Volunteer Plant Sale

Join the Master Gardener Volunteers for their biannual plant sale on October 7th, from 9am – 12pm! There will be hundreds of unique plants propagated, grown, and maintained by our wonderful team of volunteers! Many of the plants available within our inventory are not commonly found at local nurseries or stores either. So come early because the plants go fast! This event is check and cash only.

Landscape Matters: Tools in the Garden
