Irrigation & Water Conservation – Landscape Matters 2019

Wednesday, April 17
10:00 AM – 11:00 AM

Location:
Yulee County Building
86026 Pages Dairy Road
(Take US 17 North, pass over the railroad tracks, turn left on Pages Dairy Road. The building is attached to the fire station.)

Master Gardener Karl Shaffer will share ways to practice water conservation by managing your irrigation system. He will demonstrate how easy it is to set your irrigation system timer, number of days water to water, and the importance of having a rain gauge. Participants will have opportunities to practice on a control unit. We will also talk about how to calibrate your irrigation system to reduce run-off of water and potentially lower your water bill. Micro-irrigation will also be demonstrated for shrub and flower beds to reduce water usage.
