Water Wednesday – What Is Precision Agriculture?

Last Updated on March 1, 2021 by

Water Wednesdays in February will focus on Precision Agriculture. You may have heard some other names, such as precision farming or precision ag. What is precision agriculture? Perhaps the easiest way to understand precision agriculture is to think of it as everything that makes the practices of farming more precise. A key component of this approach is the use of information technology. Precision agriculture is usually defined by the technologies that enable it. For example, the use of GPS (Global Positioning System) to achieve a more accurate and efficient management of farming is called GPS Agriculture.

This Wednesday, the Central District Water Resource Regional Specialized Agent, Dr. Yilin Zhuang, will give an overview of the tools used in precision agriculture. We will livestream talk on Zoom and Facebook Live at 2 PM ET.
