Last Updated on August 9, 2024 by williamortiz

Last month Mid-Florida Research and Education Center (MREC) Center Director Roger Kjelgren was interviewed by the Orlando Sentinel about our role in conducting industrial hemp research.

During his interview, Kjelgren spoke about the UF/IFAS Industrial Hemp Pilot Project, highlighting MREC’s research role in the larger project that includes studies of pest management and fertilizer application rates.

MREC is a research location for production trails, focused on understanding variety selection, cropping system development and the economics behind industrial hemp production.
