Industry Spotlight: The Magnolia Company

Last Updated on December 19, 2018 by Angela Colonna

For almost 20 years, The Magnolia Company has spread holiday cheer with its handmade wreaths and decorations made from magnolia tree leaves. This family-owned business continues to produce high quality and long-lasting wreaths that retain their natural or enhanced beauty for many years.

The Roth family owns and operates The Magnolia Company.

“We have had customers tell us they purchased their wreaths eight years ago and they still are in beautiful condition,” said Matt Roth, president of The Magnolia Company.

Each of The Magnolia Company’s wreaths are handmade and arranged.

Located just north of Orlando, The Magnolia Company has helped decorate not only family homes but also larger venues like the White House, Waldorf Astoria New York and the US Botanic Garden in Washington, DC. In addition, the company was featured in publications like Southern Living, O The Oprah Magazine, Martha Stewart Wedding, HGTV Magazine and Southern Lady.

Here is an example of a wreath with extra decorations in addition to the natural magnolia leaves.

Every year, about 2.5 million cuttings are harvested from The Magnolia Company’s 75-acre tree farm. These cuttings are then used to create wreaths and decorations by utilizing the natural beauty of the Southern magnolia tree. Seasonal decorations come in fresh, dried or lacquered arrangements set in wreaths, garlands, mantle pieces and hanging swags.

“We have hired designers in the past to create new items, but our Original Magnolia Collection pieces consistently are our best sellers,” said Julie Roth said, vice president of The Magnolia Company.

The Original Magnolia Collection has traditional hues of greens and browns to match the natural colors of magnolia trees. Other collections add small bows and seasonal pine cones for splashes of reds, coppers, silvers and blues.

The Lacquered Collection has strong pops of color with no additional adornments for a simple, modern look. Regardless of your holiday theme you will be able to find decorations to match your style and provide holiday cheer.

The Southern magnolia tree is a classic touch throughout the year.

The Magnolia Company serves independent retail stores as well as customers from their own website. Follow this link for more information.

In addition to shipping their handmade decorations, The Magnolia Company grows and ships trees through their sister company Seeds of Life. Planting a living gift tree is a beautiful way to commemorate life’s most special occasions, and Seeds of Life provides three different ways to gift the tree – as a seed package, a seedling or larger gift tree.
