Miami-Dade County Commercial Horticulture Industry

Join us to learn about the Commercial Horticulture industry (plant nurseries) thanks to this educational video created by the UF/IFAS Extension Miami-Dade County Commercial Ornamental Extension agent. Thanks to the great weather in South Florida, the horticulture industry in Miami-Dade is large and diverse, with more than 1350 nurseries certified by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, producing and distributing ornamental plants to homeowners, growers, landscapers, and local and national and international stores and garden suppliers. This is also recognized as the ornamental/green/nursery or environmental horticulture industry.
In fact Miami-Dade is the top county in Florida for ornamental plant production and second in the U.S.
And UF/IFAS Extension Miami-Dade County exists in this context to assist growers anytime with non-biased research-based data to inform their daily practices and decision-making.
