Strengthen your relationship through the Art of Effective Communication

As we endure another prolonged season of stressors for couples and families across the state of Florida, there has never been a better time to focus on strengthening our relationships. UF/IFAS Extension is offering an online virtual event to individuals and couples that want to master “the art of effective communication”. In this event we will be offering workshops from marriage and family professionals from across the nation. This would be a key moment in which participants will learn how to improve your communication skills and keep the romance alive.

Effective Communication is defined as the ability to convey information to another effectively and efficiently. Effective Communication is a key skill to becoming a good leader and better person. It is not what you say but how you say it. It is more than just exchanging information. It is about understanding the intentions behind the information and being able to clearly convey a message that makes the other person feel heard and understood.

Communication is the lifeline of any relationship.

Elizabeth Bourgeret

After having taught relationship education in Manatee County something that I noticed in most classes was how couple after couple stressed the importance of really talking to each other sharing your joys, their frustrations, and their feelings. In short, they concluded “if you cannot talk, you won’t make it”.

This online virtual event features national experts that will be sharing with us how to improve our communication skills and keep the romance alive. The talent and expertise of the speakers is something new presented in Florida by UF/IFAS Extension.

All workshops will be recorded and available on-demand for participants to watch for approximately 30 days after the conference.
