UF Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) Extension @ Yankeetown Seafood Festival

Visit UF Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) Extension booth at 2021 Yankeetown Arts, Crafts and Seafood Festival, Saturday November 20, 2021: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Sunday November 21, 2021: 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

In an ideal situation, everything planted in north Florida would grow well. We have growing conditions to suit every taste; sandy, well drained soils, soils prone to periodic flooding, flatwood high pH soils and coastal areas prone to salt water and salt spray.
Our clients want to know;
1) once they understand growing conditions, they can have a green(er) thumb
2) other than trial and error, better plant options are available
3) how to have harvestable fruit and vegetables in north Florida

Visit the Extension Master Gardeners booth. They love to “talk plants.” Bring garden questions, plant samples, share photos of your flowering pride and joy, and discuss Florida Friendly Landscaping options specific to your site. Free UF/IFAS horticulture handouts will be available.

Come out for the views, music, delicious seafood, art & craft vendors and more in Yankeetown, Levy County. Hike, fish, picnic, stroll salt marsh boardwalk, gulf accessible kayak launch and 30 foot observation deck with 360 degree views at Withlacoochee Gulf Preserve, a 413 acre mixed hardwood and wetland. Free admit to both.

Click to share on facebook and email friends. Hope to see you soon. Until then, Happy Gardening!
