Here is a list of upcoming 4-H Competitions and their deadlines.

State 4-H Hippology Contest, April 7 & 8

The State Hippology Contest goes hand in hand with the Horse Judging Contest, because Hippology entrants will be in the Horse Judging contest to judge some of the same classes as the judging entrants. A thorough explanation of the logistics for the 2-day event is linked from the Hippology page,
Hippology is an in depth, but fun contest which really tests what youth know about horses. If your Horse project youth and leaders are not familiar with it, the best way to learn is to come enter and experience it, then plan to come back next year ready to compete!

The entry deadline for Hippology is this Friday, May 23!

To keep this from getting too long, this is just a summary of dates & deadlines. Please refer to this link for links to the full details for each event.

CONTEST
EVENT DATE
ENTRY DEADLINE
Horse Judging April 7 March 30
Livestock Judging April 14 April 6
Meats Judging April 21 April 13
Poultry Judging May 3 April 20

New this year, the State 4-H Poultry Judging Contest will be similar to the others in that it will be held in conjunction with the State FFA CDE for Poultry Judging. A summary of the new contest day logistics is posted here. The rest of the details for the contest and registration information will be updated by the end of this week.

Each contest has different entry allowances. But for all contests, a group of 3 or 4 members may compete as a team for team awards (and individual awards). If there are not enough for a team, individuals may enter and be eligible for only individual awards. If multiple counties have individual entrants, we might ask coaches/agents if those individuals want to join together to compete as a team
