The University of Florida/IFAS Extension Peanut Butter Challenge in Jackson County has a new record! Businesses, county employees, residents, and students collected a record amount of peanut butter to help local neighbors in need. This year, peanut butter donations in Jackson County totaled 2,855 jars, weighing in at 3,260 pounds!

The Peanut Butter Challenge aims to help support local food pantries ahead of the holiday season. Donations from across the county were collected then tallied at the UF/IFAS Extension Jackson County office. The peanut butter collected was donated to Innovative Charities of Northwest Florida, Inc. and Backpacks for Kids- Jackson County, Inc.
UF/IFAS Extension Jackson County would like to thank every individual, group, and partner organization in Jackson County who participated, donated, and contributed to the success of the 2025 Peanut Butter Challenge. We would like to recognize these groups that collected the most peanut butter this year:
- Graceville School: 347 jars, 392 lbs.
- Farm Credit of Northwest Florida: 75 jars, 197 lbs.
- Jackson County BOCC Departments: 491 jars, 614 lbs.
- Cottondale High School: 178 jars, 174 lbs.
- Marianna K-8 School: 79 jars, 122 lbs.

We would also like to recognize the local businesses that participated and/or served as collection points for community donations: Greenwood Supermarket & Deli, Piggly Wiggly of Graceville, Spanish Trail Farms, Inc., McDaniel’s Piggly Wiggly, McCoy’s Outdoors, Jackson County TIMES, and the Jackson County School Board District Office.
