The ‘Eat Less’ Message

smaller cokes

With restaurants now posting portion sizes and nutritional data, large food manufacturers are also changing the presentation of their products. We now have a thin version of some cookies or the optional 100 calorie pack of some of our favorites. Even the soda giants have the released a smaller 7.5-ounce soda with 90 calories per can.

Have you figured it out? These food giants know that obesity is an enormous issue in the United States and all want to be seen as helping to provide a positive change. This is actually a self-preservation tactic they are using by promoting a lesser evil version of their product. Read the food label and note the sugar and fat content. Of course we all will indulge on occasion, but be aware of what you are consuming.

You control your dietary intake. Make educated choices! Be proactive, read labels or investigate the menu prior to frequenting an establishment.

Here’s to your health!
