How old do you feel? Even better, how about calculating how old your heart is…the Center for Disease Control and Prevention have developed an amazing tool, Heart Age Calculator, that allows you to calculate the age of your heart!
Of course this is only for those with no history of heart disease and only if their age falls between the ages of 30 and 74. What a great way to determine how well you have been taking care of your heart.
Give it a try! You will be required to input your systolic blood pressure number (the top number of your blood pressure) and this can be from your last known reading. Additionally, it is required for you to enter yes or no if you take blood pressure medication, if you currently smoke, and if you are a diabetic. Finally, enter your Body Mass Index (BMI), and if you don’t know yours, calculate it now using your height and weight.
So how did you fare? If you are not where you thought you could be, you can also take advantage of some of the other health and wellness tools this site has to offer to make some improvements. Here’s to your heart!
