WordPress-To-Web is an enhancement developed in-house at UF/IFAS Communications for Blogs. IFAS WordPress-To-Web pulls content from Blogs.IFAS into other websites using an rss feed. While there are other features that can pull rss feeds into other websites, wordpress to web is special because it will also pull in a single image next to each feed item! Examples of sites using this feature include: UF/IFAS Communications (see the Web Communication tab at the bottom of the page) and Farm to School (Feature boxes under slider: School Gardens, Nutrition and Local Food are pulling in the most recent post from Blogs.IFAS). This is a wonderful feature that we plan to use across other UF/IFAS websites to make content more dynamic and easy to update. New information only has to be added to Blogs.IFAS and it will automatically pull into any website pulling that particular feed. For example, if there are five websites focusing on gardening, they could all pull posts from the same blog rather than each website having to be separately updated (which is how things are done now). Less work for everyone 🙂
