The goal of this trailer wrap was to transform a run-of-the-mill red trailer into an attractive one which catches the eye of people who pass by it. The objective was to market a gardening help clinic associated with UF/IFAS Extension Florida Master Gardener Volunteer Program to Columbia County residents, particularly those caring for their landscapes and vegetable gardens. Our client wanted to target seniors and physically/developmentally disadvantaged citizens interested in staying active and improving their lives through gardening, and also school-age students and their teachers participating in school garden learning strategies.
The images were chosen to clearly show the connection to the county community, which makes the program and trailer use apparent without written language. The color and style of the design clearly represent UF/IFAS Extension Florida Master Gardener Volunteer Program Columbia County, even from a distance.
The project came with a few challenges:
- Because of the size of trailer (12ft x 7ft), the digital working files were very large and had to be laid out at 1/3 of the final size due to the limitations of the layout software. This required measuring the trailer several times, scaling to 1/3 size, and creating composites of artwork on photographs of the trailer to see if text and photos were in the right locations without being obstructed by anything on the trailer.
- Because of the lack of a precise template for locations of the windows, doors, wheel wells, and a/c unit made the accuracy of placement of text and photos would not be known until the final files went to the vendor.
This well-branded trailer represents the needs of the residents and positions UF/IFAS Extension as a trustworthy resource to everyone who sees it.
