Over the last decade, Escambia and Santa Rosa counties, located in the northwestern portion of Florida, have suffered a number of economic setbacks due to hurricanes, market instability, and the real and perceived damage from the 2010 oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. To help revitalize tourism and business investment in the area, in 2009, UF/IFAS Extension in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties formed a partnership with tourism development staff and business owners to create a website and brochure. Since 2009, many businesses in the area have come and gone, and the project was in need of a major update and a renewed marketing campaign. Thanks to a large grant, these counties were able to start this process in March of 2014 and will continue for more years with reprints to the marketing materials. The campaign started with 4 billboards located around the main areas of Escambia and Santa Rosa counties.
The Naturally EscaRosa Marketing campaign won a gold award and the Outstanding Professional Skill award in the Marketing category of the Association for Communication Excellence Critique and Awards Program!
