The York Distinguished Lecturer Series continues this fall with a joint presentation by conceptual visual artist Mel Chin and agronomist Rufus Chaney.
Chin and Chaney will tell the story of how art helped advance a then-new green remediation technology from laboratory to field. The National Endowment for the Arts, a Superfund site, and the United States Department of Agriculture all figure into this account of an unlikely marriage of art and science.
For the first time in the 40-year-history of the series, the event features co-lecturers.
Please mark your calendars for September 19, 2024, at 3 p.m. The lecture, titled, “Revival Field: A Case Study for Poetic Pragmatism,” will be held in the Harn Museum of Art.
