Curious about what Holmes County 4-H has to offer? Want to meet the 4-H Agent from Holmes County? Do you have questions about 4-H Camp Timpoochee? Adults—have you ever thought about volunteering with a community organization but don’t know what will work for your schedule? Then drop by the Holmes County Ag Center on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 from 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM for our 4-H Meet & Greet to get involved! There is no obligation to join 4-H but Holmes County 4-H is so sure you will love 4-H that you will want to join the 4-H family immediately!
This event is free and open to all youth ages 5-18. Youth and parents will have the opportunity to explore the different clubs that are being offered through 4-H, meet and talk with current members and have their questions answered by Niki Crawson, 4-H Agent. Enrollment forms will be available for new members and those wanting to re-enroll in the 2013-2014 4-H year. Volunteer information will be available for those adults interested in getting involved in the 4-H community. Please join us for a night of learning, interacting, and fun!
4-H is one of the largest youth development programs in America with more than 6.5 million young people, ages 5-18, and 540,000 youth and adult volunteers. 4-H’s learning opportunities are designed around four essential elements necessary for positive youth development by providing youth with: supervised independence, a sense of belonging with a positive group, a spirit of generosity toward others and a wide variety of opportunities to master life challenges. A variety of fun, educational, social, and engaging activities are offered such as sewing, archery, science and technology, robotics, and so much more! These programs operate with volunteers to teach the fundamental 4-H ideal of practical, “learn by doing” experiences which encourages youth to experiment, innovate and think independently.
