Dr. Andrew KaneUF Water Institute/ Director, Aquatic Pathobiology LaboratoryOffice: 352-273-9090 Extension Responsibilities: Andy Kane is an associate professor of environmental and global health at the University of Florida’s College of Public Health and Health Professions in Gainesville, and is also the director of the University of Florida’s Aquatic Pathobiology Laboratory. Kane is focusing on ways to better understand the relationship between the higher salinity in the Apalachicola Bay (due to reduced freshwater input) and the presence and intensity of fouling organisms that can grow on oyster shells, and can affect oyster growth and the aesthetics of the shell. |
