This position will perform plant breeding, plant evaluation and research; record observations and measurements and report results; prepare, review, and update protocols for the plant breeding and research program; assist with ordering and stocking of materials, supplies and equipment; responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining working areas and equipment; assist on logistic preparation for field days and other visits.

Instructional Designer III

Research Coordinator I

This position supports a grant-funded irrigation scheduling and nutrient management research project at the UF/IFAS North Florida Research and Education Center – Suwannee Valley (Live Oak, Florida) under the supervision of a Regional Specialized Extension Agent (Water Resources) and collaborating faculty. Primary responsibilities include coordinating research and Extension activities associated with the project; ensuring the collection, management, and organization for field, sensor, and agronomic datasets. Oversee crop growth, irrigation, and nutrient modeling efforts. The position will support irrigation scheduling research through coordinating data quality control efforts, basic analysis, visualization, and documentation, and integrating field and sensor data into modeling platforms used to evaluate water and nutrient use efficiency. Additional duties include coordinating on-station research activities; overseeing field data collection (e.g., irrigation system monitoring, soil moisture sensors, crop measurements); supporting reporting requirements for the grant; supporting graduate student working on the project; and facilitating communication among project collaborators, Extension agents, and stakeholders.
