Halloweed is an invasive plan program that is modeled after the Audubon Christmas Bird Count – just a different topic and a different holiday!
What we hope to achieve with this program is update the EDDmaps website that many managers and locals use to track the occurrence of invasive species. This year we are focusing our efforts on cogongrass. UF IFAS Extension will be offering free workshops on how to identify the plant and how to log them on the EDDmaps website. If you are interested in helping us battle invasive species in the western panhandle, please attend one of the workshops and participate in this years HALLOWEED!
