This past Saturday, August 31, 2019, 33 youth from across the panhandle of Florida and Alabama showed their beef project animals at the second annual Escambia County 4-H Labor Day Classic at the 4-H property in Molino, Florida. Youth showed in both showmanship, which focuses on the youth’s showing abilities, as well as breed and weight classes, which focuses on the animal’s merits. This show was just a stepping stone for youth who are preparing these animals for shows later in the year where they will finish their project. Of the many hours a youth pours into a livestock project, shows like the Labor Day Classic, allow the youth to demonstrate their growth throughout the project. Please join us in congratulating all the participants and winners of this show!
