Winter Time Herbs

Italian parsley is a biennial. Replant every fall or winter to have a constant supply for your favorite dishes.

There are several herbs that thrive in cooler winter temperatures. There is still time for you to plant seeds of dill and parsley and transplants of your favorite thyme. The dill will go to seed in spring, the parsley will last for two seasons, and the thyme will spread in the garden for many years. You may also grow these herbs in containers for easy access to use in cooking.

Dill is a winter annual. It will reseed and return each Fall.

Variegated thyme grows well in the ground or in containers.
