Water Quality Update – March 25, 2016

FDEP only sampled one location this week – Bayou Texar – all is good

ECHD – reported for both Bayou Texar and Bayou Chico – bacteria counts are good

 

RED TIDE

Background levels were detected in West Bay near Panama City. All other records were from SW and SE Florida.

 

FISH KILLS for Escambia and Santa Rosa counties

No fish kills reported for our area during March. However there is a serious fish kill occurring in the Indian River you may be interested in reading about.

 

HEALTH ADVISORIES

No health advisories issued this week

 

WATER TEMPERATURES

Only Bayou Texar measured – 63 F

 

SALINITY

Only Bayou Texar measured – 6.8 ppt – which is low for the lower end of BT

 

DISSOLVED OXYGEN

Only Bayou Texar measured – 82. Mg/L – which is fine

 

NUTRIENTS

No updates on nutrients this week. You can read about nutrients from 2015 from local waters in the 2015 Water Quality Report. Again, just let me know if you would like a copy. Roc1@ufl.edu
