4-H Beyond Fair

4-H

4-H is the youth development program of Extension at land grant universities. Adults play a vital role in the 4-H program by coordinating 4-H clubs, mentoring youth, and helping plan and run events.

“Florida 4-H strives to provide a safe and healthy environment for youth participating in 4-H programs by helping youth feel a sense a belonging through healthy relationships with caring adults, provide opportunities of engagement through experiential learning (hands-on) activities, and encourage youth to find their spark!”

Winning intermediate and senior 4-H members advance to the District Contest. Seniors  awarded a blue ribbon at the district contest advance to the state contest at 4-H university in July.

4-H Awards and Recreation

Recognition for your work in 4-H is easy peasy! Look for the Awards and Recognition Application in your returned DeSoto County Fair Record Book. You do not have to complete another record book, but instead complete the application and turn it in with your completed fair record book. After you turn in your record book, look for an invitation in the mail and bring your family to celebrate your hard work!
