This position as the 4-H Youth Development Agent has the responsibilities for the overall leadership, maintenance and evaluation of the 4-H Program. 4-H is a non-formal educational youth development program that combines the cooperative efforts of youth, volunteer leaders, University of Florida, and the Bay County government to help youth become productive members of society that understand and effectively interpret and use the findings of science and technology. The agent interprets and communicates policy and educates 4-H Club volunteers to handle situations they may face a community club advisors. This agent works with local schools to assist with programming such as 4-H Tropicana Public Speaking. Dr. Davis also conducts officer trainings and promotes teen leadership in the community. The community needs are evaluated and program objectives are visualized with the assistance of a local advisory committee. Due to these activities both the University and You as a volunteer can help us make our motto come true “To make the best better” through 4-H programming.
