Hoosier Park Racing & Casino, located in Anderson, Indiana, is currently accepting applications for two internship opportunities within the Race Marketing Department for the upcoming 2017 Live Harness Racing Season.
This is a paid internship ideal for students pursuing careers in marketing, hospitality, communications, business, and any equine related fields. Race Marketing interns will have the opportunity to work alongside industry and media professionals in an exciting, fast-paced environment.
Each intern will assist the Race Marketing Department with:
- Promotional events, racing activities, and programs in a customer-service based atmosphere
- Daily production of the live racing program along with various group and charity events
- Writing blog pieces
- Developing and maintaining new marketing contests
- Working on public relations and social media assignments
Internship applicants should possess:
- Strong communication skills and organizational skills
- Experience in social media applications
- Energetic, self-starter
- Reliable transportation
- Willingness to work weekends and some evenings
- Experience in the horse racing industry is beneficial, but not required
The internship will run throughout the entirety of the live racing season, which begins April 1, 2017 and ends November 17, 2017. For the first time ever, Hoosier Park will host all 12 year-end championship races, worth a combined $5.8 million.
