MASTER GARDENER CLASSES STARTING JANUARY 19, 2017

Applications are being taken for the 2017 Master Gardener Program at the UF/IFAS Wakulla County Extension Office. The program application is available at the Extension Office at 84 Cedar Avenue in Crawfordville, or on-line at https://blogs.ifas.ufl.edu/wakullaco/mg.

Classes are scheduled to begin on Thursday, January 19, 2017. The classes will be held 10:00 a.m. to noon and the cost is $75.00 which covers all necessary class materials. Class availability will depend on at least ten students registering.

Additionally, every third Saturday beginning January 21, 2017, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. is a work/demonstration day at the Extension office demonstration garden. Students will have the opportunity to test and apply the techniques and skill developed in class while learning new skills.

Topics covered in class will include: soils sampling, proper fertilizer selection and use, right plant in the right place, efficient water use, weeds and herbicides, good bugs/bad bugs, vegetable gardening, beneficial native plants, and much more.
