The Eastern redbud is one of the free trees offered at the festival

Starting at 10am this Saturday, the 11th annual Crawfordville Arbor Day festival — and tree giveaway — will take place at Hudson Park! There are hundreds of trees to choose from, including: redbud, tulip poplar, bald cypress, parsley haw, rusty blackhaw, and arrowwood; as well as many other varieties in smaller quantities. In addition to your free tree, each person may also take home a container of longleaf pine seedlings for planting. After 12 noon, the remaining trees can be yours with a donation of $4 per tree. Our Master Gardeners will be available to answer questions and help you choose the right tree for your yard. We hope to see you there!
