Toxic Weeds in Your Backyard

The warm, dry spring of 2012 made the return of rains a joyous event. The grass and ornamentals perked up and everything returned to a pleasant shade of green appropriate to the season.

Along with the desirable foliage, a bumper crop of weeds responded with vigor. Any weed seed, rhizome, or drought dormant perennial lurking in the soil responded with an evolutionary ruthless bent on conquering territory and consuming water.
