This October, during National 4-H Week, Suwannee County 4-H is hosting its 4th Annual Shoebox Parade. Encouraging members to show off their 4-H sparks on a miniature scale, the shoe box parade is an easy, low-cost opportunity for all 4-H members to participate! The parade theme each year is “4-H”, and the contest highlights the diversity of projects available through 4-H- from animals to arts, and everywhere in between!
The Suwannee County Parade started in 2022 as another opportunity to highlight the creativity and interests of its members. Over time, it has grown from seven entries to last year’s high of 17 entries.
Members are able to participate both individually and as a club group. After judging, Awards are given to the top 3 individual floats, and the top club float. Float entries are posted in the County 4-H Facebook page and community members can vote for the winner of the people’s choice award!
Here are a couple of our past float entries for inspiration.
