These workshops are sponsored by the Florida Council on Economic Education (FCEE). Teachers (or other individuals who provide financial literacy education in a nonprofit

setting) who attend and complete all requirements may be eligible for payment to be disbursed by the FCEE directly. Requirements include attending the workshop for the complete duration and completing a survey. Participants can earn $20/hr. during each workshop.

You do not have to attend all three workshops to be eligible. It’s okay if you can only attend one! Read below to learn the details of each workshop.

Get Fin Lit Workshop Series

The Get Fin Lit workshop series is based on the Personal Finance and Money Management course #2102371. The Dorothy L. Hukill Financial Literacy Act revised the financial literacy requirements in 2022. Students entering high school as 9th graders starting in 2022-2023 must take a half-credit financial literacy class.

These workshops will provide resources from the curriculum Living On My Own. To learn more about LOMO, you can read Josey’s previous blog or https://blogs.ifas.ufl.edu/stlucieco/2025/04/02/national-financial-literacy-month-learn-about-lomo/
