Regional Agri-Tourism Conference

Are you a producer interested in engaging in Agri-Tourism and bringing more visitors to your farm?

UF/IFAS Extension Martin County is hosting the 2017 Regional Agri-Tourism Conference on June 15 and 16. From 1:00 pm to 7:30 pm in the evening on June 15, participants will visit agri-tourism operations in Martin and St. Lucie Counties and hear directly from the farmers about their challenges and successes. The tour will include a reception and wine tasting at Summer Crush Winery in St. Lucie County, with presentations by local agri-tourism operators and an opportunity for discussion. Other operations include Fresh Shrimp USA, Ground Floor Farm and Kai-Kai Farm. Refreshments will be provided.

From 8:30am to 4 in the afternoon on June 16, presentations will be offered to assist new and existing agri-tourism operations with navigating regulations, business planning, marketing your agri-business, awareness of consumer preferences, and resources available to fund your operation. We will also have a panel discussion focused on regulations and insurance needs specific to agri-tourism businesses. A catered luncheon and refreshments will be provided. It is recommended that participants wear closed toed shoes and sun protection on the first day and casual attire on the second day. The cost of registration is $75 before June 8 and $90 after and can be completed here.
