For the global volunteer month in April, the Sarasota County Commissioners honored all county department volunteers March 24 for their outstanding efforts throughout Sarasota County in 2025.

UF/IFAS Extension celebrated its volunteers April 1 at the annual “Volunteer Appreciation” luncheon.

Extension volunteers assisted staff in providing a wide range of programs on energy savings, gardening, natural areas, youth development and more which reached nearly 60,000 residents in Sarasota County.

For 2025, 282 Extension volunteers gave 13,604 hours for $448,932 in value.

The Extension staff thanks its volunteers for another year of tremendous support.
