About CAE Healthcare
CAE Healthcare delivers educational tools that help healthcare professionals provide safe, high quality patient care. Its end-to-end spectrum of simulation solutions includes patient, interventional and imaging simulation, audiovisual solutions and learning applications.
With a broad array of products, CAE offers targeted training to hospitals, medical schools, emergency response teams, military branches and nursing, respiratory and allied health programs. Each CAE Healthcare product is developed in collaboration with clinicians and clinical educators whose aim is to ensure physiological accuracy and educational relevance.
CAE reached its carbon neutrality commitment on Sept. 28, 2020, becoming the first Canadian aerospace company to reach this goal. CAE’s strategy is organized into three phases targeting three ways to reduce its carbon footprint: consume less, consume better, offset carbon emissions. During the last year, CAE became carbon neutral by purchasing renewable energy certificates (RECs) in the countries where it operates to offset the company’s use of electricity and investing in greenhouse gas reduction projects (carbon offsets), including wind energy projects in India and forest conservation in Canada.
Becoming a Green Business Partner was effortless for CAE Healthcare’s location in Sarasota, as fundamental principles of environmentalism are integrated into the corporation. CAE’s expanding business is always looking for new ways to optimize operations and efficiency, and Kevin O’ Neal leads these efforts in the local office. Kevin has encouraged the implementation of a program that reuses packaging materials in-house. To reduce the use of single-use plastic water bottles, the company provides a filtered water source and reusable water bottles for employees. It works with a local business to repurpose metal scraps and electronics, reducing waste that may otherwise end up in the landfill. Additionally, CAE locally is currently in the process of replacing lightbulbs with energy-efficient LED bulbs. CAE healthcare is an exemplary example of a Green Business Partner who strives to make its workplace and community a better place.
