COVID-19 agriculture updates: April 17 (part 1 of 2)

Hello DeSoto and Sarasota County Producers!

The value of the work you do has never been clearer. We need your help to figure out how much your valuable work has been impacted.

UF has created a survey to measure how big of an impact the pandemic is having on agriculture across the state. This information will be vital to informing decisions made by policymakers and establishing a roadmap for moving forward.

This survey is a disaster impact survey. We are used to weather-related disasters in Florida. But this is a very different type of disaster and so the questions on this survey are a very different set of questions. Many of the questions ask you to compare your business in 2020 to your business in 2019. If you have some basic information in hand to compare the two years, this survey should take you about 15 minutes. An example of the basic info you will be asked: how many employees did you have on payroll in April 2019 compared to April 2020?

Click here (link: https://ufl.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3sYZE3NF19Ik949) for the survey on agriculture, aquaculture production, processing, and transportation.

We strongly encourage your participation in the survey. The information you provide will help assess the larger impact of COVID-19 to the agriculture and aquaculture industries. This information will be vital to informing decisions made by policymakers and establishing a roadmap for moving forward.

If you are filling out the survey and have questions, please let me know. I am available to help anyone who needs assistance.

Thank you for all that you do,
