Plant cultivation has fascinated humanity for thousands of years. It started out with the domestication of plants for food. Then as civilizations began to develop we started to see the creation of ornamental gardens. As people moved they took with them seeds and cuttings of plants of cultural and personal significance. Today people still are fascinated with growing, propagating and sharing plants.

The series Back to Basics Plant Propagation is intended to assist homeowners in increasing their knowledge on basics skills needed for increased success in propagating plants. In this second installment of Back to Basics Plant Propagation 101, you will learn techniques and tips to start many plants utilizing cut material. Topics include: 3 types of propagation cuttings, use of rooting hormone, division of common bulbs and tubers.
