As you begin to check off the lists that you’ve prepared for 2016 and perhaps those of 2015 that haven’t been accomplished yet, let’s consider how the University of Florida Extension Service can provide solutions for your life.

Pinellas County Extension is one of 67 county offices in the State of Florida – we’re very fortunate to have an extension office in every county! Extension agents are educators and we provide hands-on classes, demonstrations, classroom style learning events, workshops, and expertise in a wide variety of program areas.

Want to impress your neighbors with your green thumb? Sign up for vegetable gardening classes or check out our online resources available at EDIS. Bring your lawn and garden questions to the diagnostic team at Palm Harbor library, Weedon Island Preserve, or the Extension office in Largo.

What’s the buzz about bees? As part of the expanding interest in urban agriculture, Extension provides a variety of classes on chickens, bees, hydroponics, and aquaponics.

Trying to save money? Our expert educators include Master Money Mentors to help you take control of your finances and achieve financial freedom. We also offer rainwater harvesting and energy efficiency classes to help you save energy and water.

Need guidelines on eating healthier and staying fit? We provide wellness and nutrition programs for adults and youth at various locations in the county.

Are you an outdoor enthusiast? Register for a hike, botany class, or lecture at Weedon Island Preserve or Brooker Creek Preserve. Master Gardeners also offer educational tours at the Florida Botanical Gardens in Largo.

Want to improve job skills? Extension provides certification training for landscape professionals as well as professional credit classes for engineers and contractors.

Interested in protecting the environment? Extension offers classes on sustainability including Sustainable Floridians SM, managing food waste, and coastal and natural resource challenges.
