Both ENERGY STAR and WaterSense are partnership programs with the Environmental Protection Agency but each program focuses on a specific resource.

  • ENERGY STAR qualified products meet rigorous third-party testing standards to ensure that the product you’re using will save energy and reduce pollution. Now in its 20th year, ENERGY STAR certifies products like washers and dryers; homes; and commercial buildings; undeniable proof as to its ability to promote energy efficiency.
  • The WaterSense label identifies a water-efficient product that has been independently tested and certified for efficiency and performance. WaterSense products are certified to be at least 20% more efficient which reduces water usage and saves money! Use this link to conduct a WaterSense product search.

Both of these programs offer products for indoor and outdoor use, increase monetary savings because you only pay for what you use, and protect the environment through resource conservation.

This September, take advantage of the special 3-day sales tax holiday in Florida which begins on September 19. When you purchase Energy Star and WaterSense labeled products, the collection of sales taxes will be suspended on the first $1,500 of a labeled product. Examples of ENERGY STAR products include air purifier, ceiling fans, dishwashers and pool pumps. There are no quantity limits for items with a sales price of less than $500 and WaterSense products include sink faucets, high-efficiency toilets and showerheads. Visit this link for more information and explanation about the sales tax holiday.

Take advantage of this holiday and reap the savings for years to come!
