Spend the Day with 4-H at the Open House

Jean Rogalsky, 4-H Youth Development Agent, UF/IFAS Extension

This Saturday is the 4-H Open House and Apple/Pecan Cook-Off at the Pinellas County Extension Service, starting at 9:00 a.m. On Saturday families will have the opportunity to explore the variety in the 4-H program. Activities include getting to know a goat or mini, building a gingerbread house (in seven minutes or less), learning about bees and ballroom dancing. You can support 4-H by purchasing one of the handmade items or the pecans you forgot to order earlier.

The judging for the cook-off will take place that morning. Pre-registered entries must be brought in by 10:00 a.m. After the judging is complete, the entries will be shared (eaten) by all. By the way, if anyone is interested in helping judge the cook-off, please let me know at:

This event runs until 2:00 p.m.

Also on Saturday, the annual Farm-City Day will be taking place next door at Heritage Village. Come see farm animals and participate in hands on activities. Striding Out 4-H Club from Country Day Montessori will be there with both miniature and full sized animals.

All activities are free.
