Join us for a Lunch-and-Learn Series in April: Invest in Your World, Invest in You

The Family and Consumer Sciences agents of the Southwest Florida District have a myriad of program expertise, and now they are coming together to share it in a free four-part virtual series. With Earth Day coming up, the agents tied in this year’s Earth Day theme, Invest in Our Planet, with the theme of investing in yourself and your own inner world: Are you coping with stress? Are you practicing self-care? Are you looking to start a garden? With rising food costs, are you looking for ways to save on your grocery spending? The series will touch on mental health, physical health, and financial health.
Join us for a Lunch-and-Learn each Tuesday in April to learn topics on the following:

April 5 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
Food, Mood, and Stress
Learn how you can influence the effects of stress, which foods and nutrients are shown to help you feel your best, and positive changes you can make to support your mental health.

April 12 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
Benefits of Exercise and Being Outdoors
We know exercise helps with weight loss and weight maintenance, but did you know it can impact so much more? Learn about this, and how being outdoors can play a role in your health.

April 19 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
Growing and Cooking: Summer Style!
Join UF/IFAS Extension Gardening and Nutrition experts for a fun-filled and information-packed event where you will learn what to plant now, how to do it, and then how to harvest, preserve, and use them in delicious, healthy foods.

April 26th 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
Sustainable Food and You
Join us as we examine how grocery shopping habits impact food waste, our environment and our budget. Learn how to make smarter decisions at the store, how to store food safely and ways to reduce your grocery bill. This event is designed to raise awareness and inspire behavior change to reduce food waste and save money.

It doesn’t matter what region of Florida (or the country!) you’re in, anyone can attend by registering here:
Come to as many as you’d like, but of course, we hope to see you all four weeks 🙂
