The 4-H Public Speaking Contest helps youth develop skills for communicating about current issues to real audiences, learn how to organize and prepare a speech, develop speech delivery skills, learn how to present themselves to others, and develop self-confidence.
All students in all public, private, parochial and charter schools in Osceola County are eligible to participate, as well as home-schooled students residing in Osceola County can participate in the 4-H Tropicana Public Speaking County Contest.
Teachers, if you are interested in getting your school or classroom involve with 4-H but you don’t know how? The 4-H Tropicana Public Speaking Contest is just one of many opportunities offered through the 4-H school enrichment program. If you are a teacher in 4th, 5th or 6th grade then this opportunity is for you and your students.

What we will provide at no cost to you?
• Lesson plan with Next Generation Sunshine State Standards & Common Core Correlations.
• Awards for classroom participants, school top three places. Awards includes ribbons and certificate for all participants, medallions for the top three school competitors and the opportunity for your 1st place School Competition winner to attend the 4-H Tropicana Public Speaking School-wide County Contest held at our office at the end of the school year.
• Judges for your school contest.
• Continue support.

Since preparation is the key to success, schools are urged to make their selection and commence coaching and preparation as soon as possible. To enroll your school, please contact our office today to participate in the 2018 Tropicana Public Speaking Osceola County Contest.
