Summer 2023 4-H Residential Summer Camp Scholarships NOW OPEN

While the “winter” months have their own appeal, I for one will be counting down the days until summer. As a kid I always loved summer as well and one of my favorite pastimes was attending sleep-away camp.

What I loved about summer camp was being outdoors, participating in camp activities, having a week “on my own”, and making new friends. What I didn’t realize I was also getting out of camp were valuable life and developmental skills like independence, belonging, team-work, confidence, and lifelong memories.

Residential Camp Locations

If you are interested in 4-H residential summer camp, there are three locations to take advantage of; Camp Timpoochee in Niceville, Camp Cherry Lake in Madison, or Camp Cloverleaf in Lake Placid. Each has their own themed weeks, camp activities, environmental education, and a whole lot of fun! If you’re not quite ready for sleep-away camp, each offer day camp options as well.

Available Scholarships

Thanks to the Busby 4-H Endowment, Alfred I. duPont Foundation, the Boyd Family Endowment, and The Florida Rural Rehabilitation Corporation Scholarship Fund there are generous scholarships available through the Florida 4-H State Office. Apply for these scholarships now through December 31st!

More information as well as the application can be found here.

  • Florida 4-H Regional Scholarships – Current 4-H members will be awarded funds to pay for a full week of any camp
  • New Member Scholarships – Youth not currently enrolled in 4-H will be awarded funds to pay for a full week of any camp PLUS 4-H membership for the 4-H year following summer camp
  • Partial Scholarships – Any youth attending a Florida 4-H summer camp can apply for $100-$200 toward the cost of a week of any camp
  • Military Scholarships – Florida 4-H has applied for a grant to provide both Army and Air Force funds for scholarships to connected youth. Once we know whether we receive funding or not, we will share this potential opportunity at that time and share the application instructions that will be different than the opportunities listed above.

Please reach out with any questions, and we hope to see you this summer at residential 4-H camp!
