The Okaloosa County Extension Office will be hosting an Equine Health and Management Workshop.

January 30, 2017

6-9PM

Okaloosa County Extension Office

3098 Airport Road

Crestview, FL

We will be demonstrating how we perform Fecal Egg Counts in horses and how we use that number to deworm our horses more efficiently. Deworming on a regular 8-12 week schedule has lead to parasites that are resistant to dewormers. Strategic deworming decreases the likelihood of developing dewormer resistant parasites.

Also, we will be discussing body condition scoring and hay and forage quality.

UF IFAS Equine Specialist, Dr. Carissa Wickens, will be our guest speaker for the night.

RSVP by calling 850-689-5850 or emailing bearden@ufl.edu
